Fitting out a medical space imposes very strict technical and hygiene constraints. For this recent project, Alcyde was commissioned to design, machine, and install the entirety of the furniture for a new dental clinic. Our mission: to create a space that reassures patients from the moment they arrive, while providing practitioners with a flawless and ergonomic workspace.

Reception and Waiting Room: The warmth of solid Hevea

First impressions are crucial, especially in the medical sector where patient stress is common. For the reception desk and waiting room, we chose to combine the purity of white with the warmth of wood.

We machined reception counters integrating vast solid hevea (rubberwood) tops. This light, resistant, and warm wood contrasts elegantly with the white melamine bases. The integration of cable routing, computer spaces, and confidential storage for medical secretaries was carried out with millimeter precision using our Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining center.

In the waiting room, custom benches and storage units optimize the space, offering patients a soothing, modern, and geometric environment, true to our "Boxy" aesthetic.

Treatment Rooms: Rigor and hygiene in White Melamine

In the treatment rooms (consultation offices), the absolute priority is ergonomics and disinfection. The medical worktops and storage units were made entirely of high-resistance white melamine.

This material offers several advantages in a medical context:

• Perfect hygiene: A smooth, non-porous surface, easy to clean and resistant to harsh disinfectants.

• Brightness: Pure white maximizes light diffusion, essential for dental procedures.

• Technical integration: Our CNC machines allowed us to custom-cut locations for built-in sinks, specialized piping routes, and medical equipment, ensuring a gap-free assembly where dust cannot settle.

Whether it's the robustness of solid hevea for public spaces or the clinical technicality of melamine for treatment areas, every panel was cut, machined, and pre-assembled in our Toulouse workshop.

This project perfectly illustrates Alcyde's ability to adapt to the specific standards of different professional sectors. By mastering the production chain from A to Z, we were able to deliver a turnkey dental clinic where industrial design serves comfort and health.
